Prerequisites:

  • CS 4610/7610 Computer Graphics I

  • Good knowledge of C or C++ programming, linear algebra and data structures.

  • Able to independently design, code, and debug moderately sophisticated programs.

  • Computer Graphics with OpenGL, Third Edition, Hearn & Baker, Prentice Hall 2003, ISBN 0130153907.

Course synopsis:

This course gives a comprehensive overview of the field of computer graphics, provides a deep understanding of the graphics pipeline, and demonstrates state-of-art techniques in computer graphics and its related fields. It aims to prepare students  for  graduate research and work in computer graphics. We  will  cover  the  basic concepts, mathematical foundations,  fundamental theory and algorithms, software techniques,  hardware and system issues, and application examples of computer graphics. A general introduction of various advanced graphics-related fields such as visualization, virtual-reality, bio-medical imaging, computer vision, physically-based modeling and animation will also be provided in this course.
